WHAT will your tour include? On The Spring Lambing Tour, your actual tour (about 1-1/2 hours) will be divided into several stages. You will begin the visit via our Sheep Shoppe, where your guide will escort you into our educational viewing gallery. The guide will explain to the children the sheep dairy concept, spring renewal and its relationship to the lambing season as well as the "grass to cheese" ecosystem. We will also discuss our cheese making process and our glassed-in viewing areas provide a real life peek into the world of sheep milking and old world cheese making. In addition, your students can also take a look into our state-of the-art barn with automatic feeding belts and the only rotating milking parlor for sheep in the country. The tour continues with a not to be missed stop at our lamb house which allows the children to visit with our fluffy newborn lambs. The children finish the tour in our Sheep Shoppe, where they have an opportunity to buy souvenirs from their visit to our dairy. The children will be given a treat to enjoy at the end of our tour. WHEN are tours? Lambing tours are only given in April and May. Tour times and dates vary. Please call or email as the calendar fills up quickly. WHERE is Valley Shepherd Creamery?
