Sheep Products Tour

Learn so much about the wonderful products that sheep bring to our society, from cheese to sweaters!

WHAT will your tour include?

On The Sheep Products Tour, your actual tour (about 1-1/2 hours) will be divided into several stages. You will begin the visit via our Sheep Shoppe, where your guide will escort you into our educational viewing gallery. The tour guide will discuss our cheese making process and our glassed-in viewing areas provide a real life peek into the world of sheep milking and old world cheese making. In essence, the children will learn how cheese starts as grass and ends up as product for sale.

In addition, you can also take a look into our state-of the-art barn with automatic feeding belts and the only rotating sheep parlor in the United States. The wool fiber process will be explored and the children will have a chance to touch wool fibers from all stages of processing (raw sheep wool, carded sheep wool and yarn). Other sheep/lamb products can be discussed as requested by the teacher.

The children finish the tour in our Sheep Shoppe, where they have an opportunity to buy souvenirs from their visit to our dairy The children will be given a treat to enjoy at the end of our tour.
